After majoring in art at Tulane University for two years, Ida was accepted at the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York City, where she graduated with a BFA in Illustration. During her time at Parsons she also spent some time abroad at the Parsons School in Paris. During summers she obtained varied work experiences, i.e. Sotheby's NYC, internship in the VIP department, acquiring and investigating art works for their clients and the Grenning Gallery in Sag Harbor, NY, a gallery dedicated to promoting artists reviving the Old Master painting techniques. In addition, she spent one summer studying photography at Southampton College.
After graduation, Ida spent the next three years living and working as an independent artist in New York City. During this period she had a wide variety of her work published, i.e. magazine covers, book illustrations, a children's book, local and regional newspapers as well as doing some corporate identity work.
However never straying far from the Fine Arts she also found time to display her work in solo shows in New York City and Virginia and group shows at the well known Elaine Benson Gallery in Bridgehampton and the National Arts Club in NYC.
Ida loves Mexico and especially Los Cabos. She moved here permanently in late 2003 and began the planning and construction of Galeria de Ida Victoria, which has been described by the local press "as the finest gallery south of Los Angeles." Ida and the staff are available for private home consultations to place your new and existing art pieces as well as to work with your designer to install in your home works to suit your style and décor.
